Janssen Performance Horses is owned and operated by Bob Janssen. Having recently relocated from the western Twin Cities suburbs, JPH is now operating out of Oasis Equestrian Center in Lindstrom, Minnesota. JPH is a full service training and breeding operation specializing in Reining, Cutting and Working Cow Horses.
In 1999 Bob trained and rode Smart Chicaway to the NRHA Limited Open Futurity Champion title, as well as the NCRHA Open Futurity Champion title. Following a successful career in the reining arena, Bob and Smart Chicaway also paired up to qualify for the 2005 NCHA Western Nationals in Ogden, Utah, where they were a finalist in that cutting competition. While the pair continues to show successfully in the cutting pen, Smart Chicaway has also received his AQHA ROM in working cow horse. Additionally, Bob has successfully managed Smart Chicaway’s career as a breeding stallion, where he has already sired multiple NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA money earners. |

Between showing performance horses as a professional, coaching non-pro and youth clients, and developing high caliber prospects, Bob Janssen has established himself as a respected and successful trainer within the reining, cutting and cow horse industries. Bob focuses on training young horses, and has successfully shown three-year-olds to money-earning performances in regional events (both reining and cutting) this 2006 show season, as well as in all three disciplines during numerous seasons. He also enjoys working with non-pro and youth riders, keeping their horses tuned-up and maintained, and has coached numerous clients to show pen success on both young and aged horses.
One of Bob’s specialties is providing quality horses to buyers looking for the caliber horse it takes to excel in reining, cutting, or cow horse events. He has an excellent selection of young prospects and finished show horses for sale at any time. He takes pride in creating successful horse and rider teams, and puts careful consideration into assisting clients find the perfect fit.
Besides training and riding performance horses, JPH, along with Fresh Horses Farm, proudly own and promote Smart Chicaway. This dynamic son of Smart Chic Olena is a three-discipline champion and producer. With his offspring just starting their careers, look for Smart Chicaway to become as big of a force in the breeding pen as he has been and continues to be in the show pen.
